Glen Mhor
John Birnie and James Mackinlay commissioned Charles C. Doig to design Glen Mhor Distillery which was found in 1892 and constructed at Muirton Basin on the Caledonian Canal in Inverness. Glen Mhor Distillery was a Highland malt whiskey distillery equipped with two stills and one of the pioneering distilleries to release single malt whiskey back in the 1960s. Closed in 1983, dismantled in 1986, demolished 1988 and now one of Scotland's lost malt whiskey distilleries. With stock dwindling bottlings of Glen Mhor are highly prized particularly those released by Gordon & MacPhail.
