Glenkinchie

Glenkinchie Distillery was established as Milton Distillery near Pencaitland in East Lothian by John Rate in 1825. Although equipped with just two stills its wash still is one of the largest in Scotland and the spirit is still cooled in cask iron worm tubs fed by the Kinchie Burn. The old maltings now house an excellent museum and visitor centre which offers distillery tours and samples. Official bottlings of single malt are the Glenkinchie 12 Year Old and the Distillers Edition.
